Roman Shaposhnikov — Poker Coach & Author — Nuts PPPoker

My name is Roman Shaposhnikov. I am a professional poker player and coach. I began my career studying chess and preference, and later devoted myself entirely to Texas Hold'em. Over years of play I developed my own strategies and shared experience through the book "Poker: Texas Hold'em Course" and educational projects for players of all levels.

I am now part of the NUTS club team, where I help players improve their skills, organize training sessions, and contribute to growing our community. My goal is to make poker accessible and engaging so every player can grow and enjoy the game.

Roman Shaposhnikov: from chess to the poker industry

Roman Shaposhnikov is not just a professional poker player. He is one of those who shaped poker culture in the Russian-speaking world. Founder of a poker school and the PokerMoscow media project, author of bestsellers and a recognized mentor to thousands of players, he turned his passion for strategic games into a large-scale movement.

Roman's path to poker did not start with cards but with the board — his first passion was chess. That game laid the foundation of his thinking: logic, calculation, patience, the ability to plan moves ahead. Later his interest shifted to card games — preference, popular in the CIS, appeared. It was a transitional stage, but traits of a future master were already visible: an analytical mind, love of systems, and deep understanding of game psychology.

1999 was a turning point. That year Roman first encountered Texas Hold'em at home games with friends. What began as entertainment quickly became a serious pursuit. Casinos, poker clubs, night tournaments — Shaposhnikov dove into the poker world headfirst. As early as 2000 he developed his own Texas Hold'em strategy based on math, psychology, and strict discipline. The system proved so effective that it brought him significant success in major tournaments.

Realizing poker's potential as an intellectual and financial tool, Roman made a fateful decision: he closed all side projects and devoted himself entirely to poker. A new stage began — not only as a player but as a popularizer. His blog "Roman with the Game" on the forum became one of the most read knowledge sources for beginners and experienced players. Later came the main breakthrough — the book "Poker: Texas Hold'em Course", which became a bible for a generation of Russian-speaking poker players.

Today Roman Shaposhnikov is not just a name but a brand. His approach combines academic rigor with practical effectiveness, and his mission is not just to win but to teach others to win consciously, systematically, and ethically.
